PHOTOGRAPHY: JOSCHI HERCZEG and DANIELE KAEHR Explosion 

Artists Herczeg and Kaehr built a custom detonator which was then connected to cameras synchronized to take a shot at the very moment of explosion for this series. Thus, they were able to capture motion and time in a split second of each explosion. 

The fascination lay in making order out of chaos and freezing an ephemeral creation; each image is like a chance sculpture as there was no way to know in advance the shape, color and size the explosions would form.
